Any help would be appreciated.Replacement Balboa Circuit Board, by Hydro Quip, Model BP500 Series. The tub is up to 104 with the circulating pump running, just a little too hot for me and it would be really nice to get the main pump running. Anyone have any experience with this? I've tried turning off the power several times but I still get the same result. I had a similar issue with a water softener board after a power outage and I just had to reset it by flipping a couple dip switches on th board. Anyone know if there is a way to "reset" the board. So I'm trying to figure out if the topside control is bad or if the board is bad.

I try holding down the pump 1 button for more than 5 seconds and it won't unlock. So it is my understanding that that means the controls have been locked. So I got it all installed, when I turn it on it goes through a quick cycle, pump 1 turns on, then I see the time on the display panel, then the circulating pump turns on along with heater, then it all shuts downs to just heat and the circulating pump and the display just shows LocF. I bought the tub from someone else who bought it brand new and then couldn't afford to get it installed. I have the exact same board and I am trying to trouble shoot it as well. Try turning the main power off for 10 minutes and then back on. It seems like a good deal for a newer used spa but not if it comes with a huge headache. I'm a bit lost on this and would appreciate some insight from someone more knowledgable on this topic before I purchase this spa. The owner said that it worked fine, then someone locked it, unlocked it (not the first time doing so) and it got stuck in this state. To me, someone with very limited knowledge of spas, it seems like it's a problem with the top-side controls or the wiring between that and the control panel. Does anyone know what could be causing this problem? Could it just be the top-side control panel or is it more likely that it's the control board that is the problem? None of the error lights on the control board are lighting up. I know pump one works because it is running (and I can't turn it off). I can't adjust the speed of the 2 pumps (both 2 speed), I can't adjust the temperature (or even the time once that is brought up), and I can't turn the light on. Other than that, no other functions seem to work at all. If I press the economy button and hold it down for five seconds it brings up the time to be adjusted. If I then hold it down again, they are unlocked. If I hold the pump one control down for 5-10 seconds the controls are locked like they are supposed to be. The problem that I have is that the topside controls don't seem to be operating at all. The control board is a Hydro Quip HQ9000-E with topside controls.

I'm planning on buying a used hot tub and there is an issue with it that I would like some input on (although I have a pool I'm totally new to hot tubs).
